LOS ANGELES, Sep. 02, 2026 — Production is nearing completion on RYDE, an independent supernatural thriller filmed in Los Angeles, with the film’s first trailer scheduled to debut Nov. 11, 2026. Written, directed and edited by Paul Quattrocchi, RYDE is executive produced by James Marchioni, who also stars as the driver.
RYDE follows a young woman who leaves a party after an argument, requests a rideshare home and enters the vehicle that matches her app. The driver appears to be an ordinary professional, but the passenger soon discovers that he is not what he seems. Set over a single night in Los Angeles, the story draws on classic vampire mythology, including the rule that the creature cannot enter without an invitation, and places that mythology within the familiar setting of app-based transportation.
Quattrocchi, an editor at Shot Studios, oversaw RYDE from script through post-production. His work on the project includes writing, directing and editing the film.
Marchioni, who began his career in digital entertainment, assembled the cast and crew for the production and plays the film’s driver. The character is presented as an unremarkable professional while the nature of the threat remains concealed for much of the story.
Caitlin Serros leads the film as the passenger, whose experience drives the story as the ride progresses from an ordinary trip home into an increasingly threatening encounter.
Shelby Hunstad plays Serros’ character’s best friend in a role that becomes significant to the story.
Vic Kallett makes a guest appearance in RYDE.
Josi Raya, an actress and singer, also makes a guest appearance in the film.
The production team includes cinematographer Guillermo Cameo, first assistant camera Ashley Ebertowski-Thompson, and gaffer Devon Mathis, whose credits include Westworld and Venom. Drone pilot Vito Pulverenti contributed aerial photography. Casting was led by Robert Ochoa. The film was shot using an ARRI ALEXA camera system, with nighttime and moving-vehicle setups forming a significant part of the production schedule.
Following a planned festival run, the team intends to develop RYDE as a feature film, expanding the characters and mythology introduced in the short. The Nov. 11 trailer debut will mark the project’s first public material. Additional details, including festival dates, will be announced as they become available.
